A lifelong New Yorker, Michael Tannen has nearly three decades of experience in politics, sales management, and real estate. He began his career while studying for a degree in political science from the City University of New York. As a field manager for Congressman Eliot Engel, Michael Tannen directed all on-the-ground operations for the campaign, including get-out-the-vote initiatives and volunteer management.
Following his work on the Engel campaign, Michael Tannen managed Anthony Weiner’s successful 1990 campaign for New York City Council. Later, he served as special assistant to then-congressman Chuck Schumer, a role in which he comanaged all of Mr. Schumer’s staff and political operations. During this time, Mr. Tannen also completed his degree.
After leaving the political arena, Michael Tannen spent more than 20 years holding executive positions with prominent New York firms. Recently transitioning into the real estate field, he maintains responsibilities with the Corcoran Group in Brooklyn as a licensed real estate salesperson. In this capacity, he leverages his knowledge of New York City and his background in sales management to help clients find properties in and around the city.
